This guidance is being provided for owners of the local FP Google Groups and other FTI members
Subscribing to the main google group
FTI members should not subscribe to the main google group. All emails sent out on FP group will also be sent out to all FTI members. FTI memembers can then forward the message to their group if they think it is important enough.
Subscribing to your local group
All FTI members must subscribe to their local group, or create one. Each local group is owned and managed by FTI members.
Instructions on start a local group
1. Please go to: http://groups.google.com.au/grphp?tab=og
2. Select "Create Group"
3. Name it "Freedom Partners Cityname"
4. For description please add: "A group of supporters of freedom and good governance, and of the Freedom Team of India in Cityname"
5. Selected "Restricted" option. That will, once you follow the steps, prompt you to set a question for people who want to join. That question should be this: "To join please confirm that you support freedom and good governance in India and support the work of the Freedom Team of India (http://freedomteam.in/). Just say "Yes"." If not asked about the question at this stage, you can also enter under the Access option, below.
6. After the group is created, the following setting should be used (go to Group Settings, then Access). The discussions on the group should not be visible to the rest of the world. Member lists should also not be visible to other members, for privacy purposes. The Melbourne group settings are provided below. Please follow these settings to the extent possible.
7. Replace the image on your group with the following image (save it on your computer and then upload it onto the google group):
8. Once you create your local group, please invite as many local people whom you know to join. That way, you can hold a local chapter meeting of Partners, and discuss ways to expand the effort locally/ get relevant support. How to invite:
Go to Management Tasks, then Invite Members then select one of Invite members by email or Add members directly. Please always use the INVITE option, not ADD DIRECTLY, to respect people’s right to choose to join.
9. Now you are ready to invite local people, and start local discussions/ meetings.
